Photographing a very emotional same sex wedding ceremony at the Brighton town Hall

Focusing on values close to my heart. Love, equality, respect and fairness

Last March I was just returning from my travels around the world and re-adjusting to my self employed wonderful life. I was determined to focus my energy this year towards supporting through my wedding photography the values I truly believe in: love, respect and equality. Getting to dive into photographing Martin and Gok’s beautiful wedding at the Brighton Town Hall was perfect.

It was a beautiful way to see again and again that all love stories are humbling and amazing. What I adore about my job is having the trust of my couples to capture the uniqueness of their story. In this case it was the story of two families coming together to celebrate the love of two happy and colourful men. I’ve never witnessed so many hugs after a ceremony 🙂

Featuring beautiful Regency Room at Brighton Town Hall and Grand Hotel

From the first minutes I got to meet Martin, Gok and their family and friends, I felt very welcomed and like part of the family. It was a lovely feeling and it made the whole experience really sweet. The ceremony was emotional and even when I started editing the photos I would find myself sobbing quietly as I got to the ceremony bit (I have a sensitive soul).

The happiness that followed after the ceremony was truly overwhelming. Afterwards we went from a stroll from Brighton Town Hall towards Brighton Beach and the cute Brighton Bandstand. It didn’t even matter that the rain started as we had our awesome colourful umbrellas to keep us dry. We finished our stroll with drinks at the Grand Hotel Brighton having a fabulous time! Congratulations to Martin and Gok!
