Fun and colourful DIY Festival Wedding at The Barleylands Farm
Barleylands is an amazing location for outdoors DYI weddings
This blog post is all about love, free spirits, good music and one great party. Congratulations to Lara and Dan for your epic DIY festival wedding at Barleylands!
You may not know this about me, but I’m a really curious person and I’m always up for new things to try, do or photograph. That’s why on my website I have a bucket list with fun and crazy weddings that I’d love to be a part of. One of those weddings was a festival wedding!! so when Lara and Dan told me that they were planning a marquee wedding with outdoor ceremony, hog roast, crepe stand, bouncy castle, lots of live music, and a silent disco in the evening, I got super excited!
The day was absolutely perfect! The weather was chaotic with blasting sunshine one minute and torrential rail the next, giving me plenty of opportunities to capture the magic of the day. The ceremony was moved indoor to avoid the rain and was held by Dan’s friend, Andy. That’s how I got to learn that Andy is a really really funny guy, and he can do an amazing Gandalf voice for the ceremony! It was mind blowing!
Jazz concert and Silent disco madness
The party that followed was epic, with jazz concerts and silent disco! We danced barefoot on the grass after the rain, we moved indoor for a bit, then outdoor again by the lake. Listening to tens of voices singing freely in the night was surreal. Maybe we can re-live the day together from the photographs below. Enjoy!
PS: Thank you Lara and Dan for trusting me and thanks to all your friends and family for making me feel so welcomed! I really had fun!
In their words:
“Corina, these photos are amazing! Can’t stop looking through them!
We absolutely loved having you at our wedding, and we had lots of very positive comments from our guests too! You embraced being anywhere the action was, and have captured it beautifully so we can relive the whole wonderful day. We’re definitely going to treasure these photos, and we’re both so happy that you were our photographer.”
